Ann Moradian

Dr. Scott Denning

Dr. Scott Denning was a Monfort Professor of Atmospheric Science at Colorado State University, where he lead a large research group using many kinds of observations and models to understand the metabolism of the Earth’s biosphere. In addition to using global satellite imagery, his research has included extensive field work in the great north woods of Wisconsin, the farms of Iowa, and the Amazon rainforest. He also serves as Director of Education and Diversity for CMMAP, the Center for Multiscale Modeling of Atmospheric Processes, working to enhance understanding of global climate through K-12, undergraduate, and graduate study as well as informal education and public presentations. He has written about 100 publications in the peer-reviewed climate literature, is a former editor of the Journal of Climate, and served for five years as founding Science Chair of the North American Carbon Program. He takes special delight in engaging hostile audiences on the subject of climate change and has twice been a featured speaker at the Heartland Institute’s annual conference.

Ann Moradian (director of Perspectives in Motion) is a movement artist, educator, writer and advocate for healthy ecologies: human, social and environmental. A dancer and choreographer, she performed with companies including Anna Sokolow’s Player’s Project, Manuel Alum Dance Company, Impulse Theatre & Dance, Colorado State Ballet, and Perspectives In Motion, which she founded in New York City in 1988. With over 40 years of movement experience ranging from classical to contemporary dance, from yoga to martial arts, her current work focuses on experiential, collaborative, trans-disciplinary, and educational projects that explore conscious embodiment from a systemic perspective. Moradian graduated from NYU’s Gallatin Division with a BA in Art & Society, has studied Systems Thinking with Fritjof Capra, Social Design with the Gaia Foundation, and recently received a diplome universitaire from the Université de Lille in Danse Improvisation, Creativité & Intervention. Co-author, with Martha Eddy, of “ChildhoodNature in Motion: The Ground for Learning” (2018) in Springer’s International Handbook on ChildhoodNature, Moradian has participated in numerous conferences, including the Natya Kala Conference on Choreography in Chennai, Labodanse’s The Conscious Body IV at La Briqueterie in La Vitry, and World Dance Alliance gatherings at Centre national de danse contemporaine in Angers, and New York University/Dance Theater Workshop. French correspondent for The Dance Enthusiast, and voted “Best Yoga in Paris” in 2016 by Expatriate Magazine, Moradian teaches yoga at the Hôpital Salpetrière’s ICM (neurology) division, Centre nationale de cinéma, NYU-Paris, as well as leading retreats and workshops.
